“ Ordered Spring Rolls stuffed with so much filler being noodles and maybe a leafy green and one green onion. Peanut sauce was sweet disgusting I took two bites and threw it away **my apologies you are correct I was meaning this reviews for Bambu on Battlefield********** ”
“ Great Americanized as well as authentic Chinese dishes. The orange chicken was bomb. Delicious egg drop soup, too. ”
“ Love trying new places and Bao Bao didn't disappoint! Bourbon beef, with onion, mushroom, hint of spice Happy Family, always a favorite of mine, meat and veggie variety all-in-one Springfield style Cashew Chicken - darker brown gravy Yummy fried rice Pot stickers with a slightly sweet sauce Egg drop soup (not pictured) with spaghetti-thin wonton. Wish I had taken a picture. The broth was just salty enough. The eggs were thinly drizzled into the soup and the thin wontons didn't overpower. Super casual, good price point and the staff/family were very friendly. Would love to eat there again! ”
“ Beautiful Chinese restaurant with a Beautiful atmosphere in the Beautiful neighborhood of Chesterfield Village in the Beautiful Southside of Springfield! I enjoyed a divine dinner here with Mom before I went bowling tonight. When we walked through the back door, I noticed unusually narrow booths, each side only appearing enough to fit one person. Their unusual appearance is why I selected to sit at one of them. Their location within the empty back side contrasted against the Beautiful scenic view of Chesterfield Village from the front side. I love the scenery of Chesterfield Village, which is why I sat on the side toward the booths to provide me pictures of myself dining here with the scenic view behind me. And every bit as much, great food here! I ordered the Springfield-style cashew chicken to be local--after all, Springfield, Missouri, is the birthplace of cashew chicken! It was as good as the cashew chicken at any other Chinese restaurant in the Ozarks where I ate it. All of these things make Bao Bao an excellent example of the several different restaurants only a short walk away from Chesterfield Lofts and Chesterfield Village Apartments. So if I was to move to one of those apartments in the near future and this restaurant was to stay open, then I would undoubtedly enjoy my life there for the opportunity to occasionally dine in that restaurant. ”
“ The food is delicious!! Small little quaint place that made me feel comfortable. Service was great! Will go back again and again. ”
“ Update: The duck is absolutely fantastic The Chinese 5 Spice shine through with extraordinary colors!!!!! Get ya some ;) Highly recommend the egg drop soup You can definitely tell it is made in house. It is so light and airy with the perfect texture. The owners are from Vietnam and give a great authentic spin. Do you like a Cherry limeade without all the calories???? Try the Cherry Lime soda water, super yummy! Everything else was good for the price. We had the Szechuan Chicken “traditional style” had amazing bites of fresh ginger which I love! We had the Egg Foo Young with Chicken which was good, next time I would do sauce on the side so it stays crispy. The Hot & Sour Soup was good, but I am spoiled to the flavor of Leong’s Asian Dinner Hot & Sour Soup, but it was still much better than your standard run of the mill Chinese places here in Springfield. We had the Salt & Pepper Jalapeno Pork and my wife loved it. I thought the breading was a little thick, but for the price of only 9.95 how can I complain??? The crab Rangoon was what you would expect and the potstickers were super delicious. We wanted the duck but they were out tonight, I get that because it is a specialty dish. Can’t wait to go back again and try it. They also do steamed buns from time to time so it is hit and miss. I will keep checking! All in all I would recommend trying this little spot out. They do not serve any type of alcohol, but I imagined they would let you bring in your own beer or wine. My highest recommendation.......get the “Egg Drop Soup”!!!! ”
“ Came here from Fayetteville to spend the day in Springfield. This place was such a treat - food was incredible, hot & fresh! We met the owners and chef and they were so kind and personable. Loved getting to try this place and it will definitely be a place we visit anytime we’re back here! Wish there was a location in Fayetteville!!! ”
“ Sunday lunch with Mom! Restaurant #66! We weren’t really sure where we were headed this Sunday, so we let Google Maps give us the options. While we started to go to a different Chinese place, we ended up at Bao Bao Bistro and were pleasantly surprised! This quaint little place has maybe 10 tables, and really freshly prepared food. Mom had the shrimp lo mein, and I opted for the shrimp and squid dish. Mom said her veggies were cooked perfectly: a little crunchy and not mushy. The sauce on my shrimp and squid dish was “just right” for my taste in spice. The Rangoons were crispy on the outside and warm and creamy on the inside. The eggroll was also crispy and tasty. ”
